Regardless of external circumstances, children can learn to manage themselves wisely with proper tools from StressCare.
1. ANIMAL TENSION... Become angry dogs together. Bark, tense bodies. Then take a deep breath and relax, becoming calm, quiet dogs. Discuss differences between tension and relaxation. Try other emotions and animals. (Tape #211, also Superkid Guidebook - #450)
2. LYING ART. Draw/color what a lie looks like with children. Discuss how that feels inside your bodies. (see #450 Superkid Guidebook)
3. THE CARE PUZZLE. Discover 7 things or people that need caring for. Each day perform 1 caring act. Keep a list posted naming who/what was cared for. (e.g. watering a thirsty plant, picking up litter, helping someone who is lonely, etc.) At the end of 1 week the list will be a great reminder of how to solve THE CARE PUZZLE.
